IJF A (USA only) competitors may also compete in the IJF Open categories. To do so requires a separate entry form and fee. Those who have already submitted their IJF A entry packets, may send a new entry form page only with the appropriate fee. The already submitted documents will be duplicated for them and attached to their IJF Open categories entries.

Tony Grisanti
Tony Grisanti from Buffalo has passed away. He will be missed by many people. Truly we have lost a great Judoka, Referee, and person.
Tony Grisanti obituary
Anthony M. “Tony” Grisanti of Buffalo, NY, died age 63 suddenly on June 17, 2014.
He survived by Joyce (nee Herkimer) Gugino his best friend, love of his life and rock for the past 40 years and three cherished stepsons Robert (Susan) Gugino, William (Renee’) Gugino and the late Michael Gugino; devoted son of Doris (nee Dry) Grisanti and the late Salvatore Grisanti; wonderful brother of Carol (late Nick) Rastelli, Martin (late Lynnette) Grisanti and Robert Grisanti; also survived by grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 4-9 PM at the JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in the City of Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St. at William in the City of Tonawanda. Friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

2014 Glick Award
Sensei George Tsubota recipient of the USJF’s Jeremy Glick Award with his wife at the USJA/USJF Grassroots Judo™ Summer Nationals in Hawaii with USJF President & Olympic Silver Medalist, Kevin Asano as well as USJA President, Gary Goltz. The Tournament brought together 1100 competitors over the 4th of July weekend.
Bone marrow drive held at the Nationals

the Hawaii Bone Marrow Donor Registry set up a bone marrow drive at the Blaisdell Arena, where many athletes are competing in the Junior/Senior National Judo Championships. The registry is looking to sign up possible donors for many patients in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant. That includes two time U.S. Olympic judo team coach Yoshisada Yonezuka, a well-known judo coach who is fighting for his life .

Nearly 150 judoka took to the mats for the inaugural United States Judo Federation Senior and Masters National Championships Sunday. It was the third and final day of judo action at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Arena. The Fifth Annual Grassroots Judo Junior, Youth, Kata and Team National Championships were held over Friday and Saturday with more than 900 competitors.
The senior division included judoka ages 18 to 29, while masters’ competition included those aged 30-and over. There were 40 divisions contested Sunday.
